The Canadian Polar Data Workshop IV will be held May 23-27, 2022 in Victoria, British Columbia, at the Delta Hotels Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort. Virtual access will also be available via Zoom.
CPDW4 is a COVID-19 safe workshop. At present, all restrictions have been lifted in the province of British Columbia. As such, CPDW4 attendees are encouraged to wear masks, but it is not required. Please note that the conference set up may put you in close proximity to other attendees. Please keep in mind your own comfort and that of others as we navigate this situation together.
COVID-19 protocols are subject to change and we will abide by any COVID-19 protocols in place at the venue at the time of the conference. Please review all current information about the venue’s COVID-19 protocols, as well as current provincial restrictions in place in British Columbia, including travel requirements, before registering for and attending CPDW4.
Fees
Workshop fees are listed below. Fees do not include hotel accommodation. Registration will be handled by the Arctic Institute of North America.

Cancellation Policy
We will be glad to accommodate changes and switch you from in person to virtual attendee at any point between now and the conference start date, refunding the difference between the registration fees at the rate below:
- Before April 1, 2022 – Full Refund
- April 2 – April 15, 2022 – 75 % refund
- April 16 – April 30, 2022 – 50 % refund
- After May 1, 2022 – no refund
All change requests must be made in writing via e-mail to Melanie Paulson: mpaulson@ucalgary.ca.
Refunds will only be processed back to the original credit card.
Contingency Plans
As of December 9, 2021, we plan on holding the Canadian Polar Data Workshop IV in person, with an option for virtual attendance.
If Federal or Provincial agencies issue a notice advising travelers to avoid the city of Victoria/province of British Columbia, avoid gatherings, or to shelter in place/stay at home as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, we will adhere to the guidelines and recommendations and transition to a completely online event.
We will endeavor to give attendees as much lead time as possible, but please note we may have to change quickly due to the uncertainty of Covid-19 and ask that all participants be patient.
CPDW4 will be held at the Delta Hotels Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort in Victoria, British Columbia. The Delta is located in the Victoria West neighbourhood and is situated on the waterfront of Inner Harbour, opposite Downtown.
